PhoneTree (VoiceWave) Premium: Call Only the People That Are Home

You can do this in one of two ways: set PhoneTree Premium up to never leave its message to answering machines, or set PhoneTree Premium to bypass answering machines on the first call attempt, which is sometimes called "Quick Call Mode."

To set PhoneTree Premium to never deliver its message to answering machines:
  1. Exit the Call Center by clicking on PhoneTree. A screen may appear asking "You are about to pause calling. Do you wish to continue?" Click Yes. Please note: Paused message jobs can be resumed by clicking back on the Call Center tab.
  2. Click on the desired PhoneTree icon.
  3. Once the List Editor screen appears, click the Options icon from the top toolbar.
  4. Click on the Advanced tab.
  5. Under Deliver message to answering machines, choose Never.
  6. Click OK.
  7. From the top toolbar, click the Exit icon.
  8. Re-launch the Call Center by clicking on Call Center from any PhoneTree Premium desktop view. A screen may appear asking "You are about to Start calling. Do you wish to continue to the Call Center?" Click Yes. Any message job(s) that may have been paused in step 1 will now resume from where it left off.
With the Never setting selected, PhoneTree Premium will hang up before leaving the message when it detects an answering machine. To revert back to leaving messages on answering machines for this call list, repeat steps 1-4 and select Always [the default setting], After # of Tries or Within Time Window.

To set PhoneTree Premium to bypass answering machines on the first call attempt:
  1. Exit the Call Center by clicking on PhoneTree. A screen may appear asking "You are about to pause calling. Do you wish to continue?" Click Yes. Please note: Paused message jobs can be resumed by clicking back on the Call Center tab.
  2. Click on the desired PhoneTree icon.
  3. Once the List Editor screen appears, click the Options icon from the top toolbar.
  4. Click on the Call Settings tab.
  5. Enable Bypass ans machines on first call attempt.
  6. Click OK.
  7. From the top toolbar, click the Exit icon.
  8. Re-launch the Call Center by clicking on Call Center from any PhoneTree Premium desktop view. A screen may appear asking "You are about to Start calling. Do you wish to continue to the Call Center?" Click Yes. Any message job(s) that may have been paused in step 1 will now resume calling from where it left off.
This will mean that during the first round of calling, PhoneTree Premium will only allow a number to ring three times before hanging up and going on to the next number. As a result, answering machines (which usually pick up after the fourth ring) will be called last. During subsequent rounds of calling, PhoneTree Premium will revert to its normal call settings.
